Hopefully last entry in backup blog for a while. ADSL has gone live and I'm just waiting on the router to bounce before the .tk domain can be redirected. Tonight, hopefully...

Quickest login to UKNova in history... :)

Can't wait to get home now. Have photos to upload and shit to download. :)

Look, I wasn't joking. I'm moving blog. For the third time this year...

I'm going to use my own software, cos, like, I can - it's mine, and I'm a cunt for that. Fuck, everything on the web is easy. It's not like your coding real software or anything...

Got nearly half of klog coded on the train to and from Brighton today. Nah probs. Just got the form for adding posts and comments and the graphics to do until 0.1 is up and running.

After the complete fucking toss that was Sky Captain, I'm quite glad Hero was bloody amazing. Really really enjoyed it. Fantastic use of colour to ram home context, as well...

I'm surprised :)

Finally got off my lazy arse and got the chipped XBox back onto the network.

Installed and configured the latest CVS binary of XBox Media Center, which is officially lovely. It picks up my rendevous playlists from iTunes, happily plays all media from the Samba shares from the eMac and even checks the weather...

It's a lot nicer than the old version I had previously. Happy as a pig in shit, now. :D

Must resist urge to sell originals...

I'm damned if I do face it, I'm damned if I don't.

Do I accept the hole and look into it, or build around and accept the new?

Attempts at both [so far] have fallen flat and I'm left with the observation that I've cut out the dialog because it's only serving one side.

At this time.

Too much, too soon?

I've got a feeling I'm ending up with regrets no matter what I do and I've already chosen the path of self preservation. I'm being selfish and I know it's something that'll haunt me.

Tonight has proven it's all too late. I don't think I actually have a choice. I'm not willing to give much of myself. Too much has gone already... My choices are nothing if not predictable, purely because of that. I normally aspire...

Pathetic.

But then, so much of my involvement always has been.

I've been running two blogs for ages. That's all well and good, but it dawns on me that there's fuck all on the web that I can't code for myself. Cue Klog. My personal blog project.

Yup, like every other cunt, I'm going to roll my own. I know what I want, how the APIs work, it's all a piece of piss. In between some other work, I'm going to code this fucker up for myself, to do what I want and support the apps that I use. Yes, it'll have levels of visibility, yes, it'll have proper RSS and ATOM. It's easy shit...

The world needs exactly one more piece of shit blog. :)

I may even start it tomorrow.

Anyone know if there's an equiv to addslashes() in PHP5 which will flip chars in a stream to their proper XML character entities (ie: & to &) ? Or am I going to have to write my own?
